Code Avengers has been awarded US$100,000 in AWS credits through the AWS Education Equity Initiative, which supports organisations building digital learning solutions for underserved learners globally. This support will help accelerate Code Avengers projects focused on making computer science, AI, cybersecurity, and digital technologies education more accessible to learners and educators in underserved, rural, remote, and linguistically diverse communities.

Across many parts of the world, learners still face significant barriers to participating in digital education. These can include limited access to specialist teachers, shortages of culturally relevant learning resources, language barriers, and fewer opportunities to engage with emerging technologies such as AI and cybersecurity. These challenges are often amplified in remote and island communities, where schools may also face constraints around staffing, infrastructure, and professional learning.

This support will help us reduce some of those barriers to digital learning.

The AWS Education Equity Initiative support will help accelerate a number of projects already underway at Code Avengers, including work to expand multilingual access, strengthen learning pathways in AI and cybersecurity, and support educators in underserved and remote communities to deliver future-ready digital learning with greater confidence.

These initiatives build on programmes and partnerships already helping expand access to digital skills learning in underserved communities in the Pacific. Through initiatives such as Indigitech in New Zealand and our Samoa digital equity programme, Code Avengers has helped create more opportunities for learners in rural, remote, and underrepresented communities to engage with coding and digital technologies education.

We’re grateful to AWS for supporting organisations working to close education equity gaps and expand access to future-focused digital learning. This support will help us continue building more equitable pathways into computer science, AI, and cybersecurity for learners and educators around the world.
